“‘But Here We Are’ is a beautiful, noisy celebration of brotherhood and a stark, painful exploration of loss. It is messy, gut-wrenching, ambitious and gorgeous, as the remaining members of Foo Fighters push themselves to their limits and beyond. Through it all, ‘But Here We Are’ is an undeniable reminder of the healing, unifying power of music.”

The Foo Fighters’ are back with the biggest touring run since releasing their 11th album, and they aim to be a “new band moving forward,” this year will see them playing festivals, plus a smattering of arena, and stadium shows throughout this year, the band has also announced that Josh Freese would officially join them as their touring drummer.

But Here We Are, the bands' eleventh studio album, emerges from the wreckage of two devastating losses. First, the band’s beloved drummer Taylor Hawkins, who passed away suddenly in March 2022, while the band were on tour, and the loss of Dave Grohl’s mother, Virginia, who died in August that same year. The record is dedicated to these two constant pillars in his life.

Released on June 2, 2023, But Here We Are, was produced by Greg Kurstin with the band itself, Lead singer and songwriter, Dave Grohl performed and recorded the entirety of the album's drum tracks in Hawkins' absence. The four singles, "Rescued", "Under You", "Show Me How" and "The Teacher" were released ahead of the album.

Foo Fighters have won 15 Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album five times, making them among the most successful rock acts in Grammy history. In 2021, the band was announced as recipients of the first-ever "Global Icon" award at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, their first year of eligibility.

The British-American rock band, The Pretenders, were formed by main songwriter Chrissie Hynde in 1978, as you'd expect with a band over 45 years old, they have experienced plenty of member changes over the years. In 2005, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. While in 2022 they joined Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium performing "Precious", "Tattooed Love Boys" and "Brass in Pocket".

The bands' twelfth studio album, Relentless, released in September 2023, and was preceded by the lead single "Let the Sun Come In". Mojo remarked that "surely Relentless is how Chrissie Hynde always wanted the Pretenders to sound", while Record Collector called it "a masterly achievement, tasting of truth" with a "second half [that] chooses a slow-burn temperature" and "a broader scale" than the band's previous two albums, "embracing both the diamond-hard dynamics and romantic respites of the matchless early albums".
